Customize Template

Explanation

Use this activity to prepare a template for component specifications that will conform to user specifications. This is achieved by mapping cells in the Specification sheet of the template to receive object values from IFS/Asset Design.

Prerequisites

A template based on an IFS/Asset Design Standard and Class must have been generated on MS Excel.

A customized template that can be used for component specifications becomes available.

Procedure

1. Open the workbook containing the user specifications of required fields.
2. Open the generated template workbook.
3. Copy the sheet containing the user layout to the generated template workbook.
4. Remove the Specification sheet from the generated template workbook.
5. Rename the sheet containing your layout to Specification.
6. Select IFS >Template > Assign Cells to open the Assign Cells dialog box.
7. Select the cell against the field label to which you want to assign a value.
8.  In the Assign Cells dialog box, find and select the item, from the list, that you want to assign to the selected cell and click > to assign it.
9. Repeat selection and assigning of cells for all the required cells on the sheet.
10. Save the template in an appropriate location as an .xlt-file.
