Configure Node Display Items

Explanation

This activity is used to configure Node Display Items separately for design objects and design parts. A node display item is comprised of different levels of navigational model (Class, KeyA01 and KeyA02) and a set of separators between them. These levels and separators, determine the display pattern of an object or design part node on a tree view in the Business Object Explorer that uses the Navigational Model option. Node display names are only effective when related to a navigational model.

Prerequisites

Navigational model items must be configured.

System Effects

Node Display Item Configuration is available to be selected in the navigational model configuration.

Procedure

  1. Open the Node Display Item Configuration window.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Node Display Name field, enter name of the template that will be reused in the navigational model configuration.
  4. In the Business Object Type field, select the type of business object for which the node display item configuration is defined.
  5. In the Standard field, enter the standard name for the standard for which the node display item configuration will apply or select the standard using the List of Values.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click New (in the lower part of the window) to open the fields for definition.
  8. In the Sequence field, enter a sequence number (e.g., 1). This sequence determines the display order within the Business Object Explorer.
  9. In the Item Name field, enter the name of a navigational model item, (e.g., Class), for which the node display item is being configured, or use the List of Values to select an item.
  10. In the Separator field, enter a separator (e.g., \, *, -) to apply and separate concatenated items from one another.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Repeat steps 7-11 to define additional node display items. For example, defining Class, KeyA, and Denom 1, with two separators ';' and '-' respectively would display a pump centrifugal object as PUMP CENTRIFUGAL: PM-312-PA-001-A-Feed Water Pump 1.
