Add Service Types on Component Repair Order Line
Explanation
This activity is used to add service types when the component
repair order line is already released for repair. You can add service types as
long as the order has not acquired the Completed status.
Prerequisites
- A work order, repair shop order, or an external service order must have been created as
a repair order for the component repair
order line.
- Service types must have been connected to the repair part in the
Part Service Definition and Pricing window.
- Repair codes must have been connected to the service type in the
Part Service Definition and Pricing window.
- Repair codes and repair part must have been connected to the standard job
in the Separate Standard Job window.
- Repair codes must have been connected to the repair part’s
repair code structure in Repair Code Structure and routing in
Repair Code Routing.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the following can occur depending on the repair
order type:
- When adding service types to work orders and repair shop orders, the
work scope is updated as well.
- Work order: The work scope on the work order is updated with these jobs,
if there are standard jobs related to the added service type.
- Repair shop order: All material and operations connected to the
service type, and those which do not already exist on the repair shop order, are
added.
- When adding service types to disposition shop order and external service
order, the work scope must be generated manually.
- Disposition shop order: If a service type is added after
release for repair, all changes of connections between the disposition
material and operation lines must be done manually. In other words, nothing happens on the
disposition shop order when the service type is added.
- External service order: You can change the default service type in order to reconnect
the purchase order transaction to the added service type as long as the invoice
is not matched.

Procedure
- Open the Component Repair Order window and query for an existing component
repair order.
- Click the CRO Lines tab.
- Select a component repair order line and click the Service Type
tab.
- Create a new record and use the List of Values to select the service type.
- Save.
