Register Accessories

Explanation

This activity is used to register any accessories delivered together with the repair part. Accessories could be a remote control, a power cable, or perhaps something really expensive that you must keep track on. It could also be a customer requirement that you should keep track of in terms of the quantity received as well as any acquisition value for the total received quantity. Accessories are always non-inventory parts and will not create any inventory transactions or records.

The accessory line is tied to a specific component repair order line. Enter a description of the accessory, the received quantity and a unit of measure. Register the accessories as received by selecting the Received check box. If the accessories should be shipped back to the customer, select the Return Part check box.

Prerequisites

Since the accessory record is tied to a component repair order line, at least one component repair order line must have been entered.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, an information line describing an accessory received with the repair part is created.

Procedure

Register accessories from the component repair order line:

  1. Open the Component Repair Order window and query for an existing component repair order.
  2. Click the CRO Lines tab and then click the Accessories sub tab.
  3. Select the component repair order line for which you want to record accessories.
  4. In the Accessories sub tab, create a new record.
  5. Enter a description of the accessory, define the received quantity and specify a unit of measure.
  6. Select the Return Part check box, indicating that this accessory should be returned to the customer.
  7. Select the Received check box indicating that the accessory has been received.
  8. Save your record.

Register accessories from the assistant:

  1. Open the Create Component Repair Order Assistant and enter the required component repair order information in step 1 and 2.
  2. In step 3 create a component repair order line records in the upper table.
  3. In the lower table enter a description of the accessory, define the received quantity, and specify a unit of measure.
  4. Select the Return Part check box, indicating that this accessory should be returned to the customer.
  5. Select the Received check box indicating that the accessories have been received.
  6. Click Finish. A record is now created in the Accessories tab on the component repair order.

Register accessories from the receive order:

  1. Open the Component Repair Order window and search for an existing component repair order.
  2. Select the component repair order line to receive parts and record the accessory for, right-click, select Receive Order Handling and then click Create. If a receive order is already created, click View.
  3. The CRO Material Receive Order window opens.
  4. In the Accessories tab, enter a description of the accessory, define the received quantity and specify a unit of measure.
  5. Select the Return Part check box, indicating that this accessory should be returned to the customer.
  6. Select the Received check box indicating that the accessory has been received.
  7. Save your record. A record is now created in the Accessories tab on the component repair order.
