Submit Contract Tender
Explanation
When the contract has been defined and estimated to an acceptable level, it
is time to submit a tender to the customer or prospect. Since you can send tenders to several customers and prospects, the tenders themselves might in
some cases be different depending on which customer you send it to. To allow
this, you can select which contract revision to use in the tender.

Note that it is common to tailor the tender documents, and such tailored
documents must be created manually. See the Create Contract Tender
Document activity for details on how to create tender documents.
Prerequisites
  - The contract must be in the Estimated or Tendered status.

- A customer or prospect must have been selected.

System Effects
  - The contract revision and submittal date will be inserted as a
new line in the lower table on the
 Sales Contract/Customers tab
for the selected customer or prospect (if it was submitted from the
	Sales Contract window, the
  default customer/prospect will be used)
- The bid status will be set to Decided to Bid, if not already in that status.

- The tender baseline will be set if you have specified it. See the Set Tender Baseline activity for
  details on the system effects.
- The contract status is set to Tendered if the contract was not already in that
  status.

Procedure
To submit a tender from the
Sales
Contract or
Sales Contracts windows, follow these steps:
  - Select the contract to submit the tender, right-click, point to Status and then click Submit Tender.

To submit a tender from the
Sales Contract/Customer tabs, follow these steps:
  - Select the customer or prospect to whom the tender will be submitted, right-click
    and then click Submit
  Tender.
The following steps are generic regardless of where the submittal is
initiated from:
  - The value in the Revision No field will be the active contract
    revision by default.
If an active revision does not exist or a different revision should be used for the
tender, it can be selected using the List of Values.
- The Submit Date field will show the current date by default. A different date
can be entered if needed, but it must be within the Planned Start and Planned Finish
dates (if any of these dates are set).
- The Set Tender Baseline check box can be
selected as long as a tender baseline does not already exist and the selected
revision status is Active. See the Set Tender Baseline activity for
  details.
- The Freeze Revision check box can be
selected as long as the revision is not already frozen. If the Set Tender
Baseline checkbox is selected, the Freeze Revision check box will automatically
be selected and cannot be cleared. See the Freeze Contract Revision activity for
  details.
- Click OK to confirm.
