Schedule Cost Calculation for Cost Set

Explanation

Use this function to schedule automatic cost calculations for a cost set. This optional but recommended task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person. You can calculate costs for all parts connected to the same cost set at a specified time interval. When calculating costs, the costs set up throughout the system are gathered and attributed to the correct part.

Note: You cannot perform cost calculation for cost set 1.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• Cost sets must be defined.
• Sites must be defined.
• Inventory parts must be created.
• The cost set for which you are performing the calculation must have costs defined.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• Costs for all parts connected to the selected cost set all levels deep will be automatically generated and saved in the cost set.

Procedure

1. Open the All Parts Cost Calculation window.
2. Click Schedule. The New Database Task Schedule window appears.
3. Set the scheduling parameters as required and save your changes.
