Connect Document Package to Activity

Explanation

Use this activity to connect a document package to a project activity in IFS/Project. Document packages contain a group of documents, and you can monitor the weighted average progress of the documents within the document package. The document package's progress will be reported to the connected project activity when the activity is refreshed.

You can also enter planned cost and hours, that will be used for developing the document, for each of the documents in the package. These will be reported to the project activity with the relevant project cost element that has been previously defined.

A document package can be connected to single activity only.

Prerequisites

The document package must exist.
The project activity must exist.

System Effects

The document package is connected to the activity.
The progress on the package is reported to the activity when the activity is refreshed.
The planned cost and hours of the documents, if any is reported to the activity.

Procedure

Open the Document Package window and query for a document package.
Right-click, click Project Connection and click Connect to Activity. The Connect to Activity dialog is opened.
Use the List button to select a suitable value for the Activity ID field. The other fields are automatically updated according to the value given for this field.
Click OK to connect the activity to the document package.
