Create Configured Part Spec Revisions
Explanation
Use this activity when you create a new configured part specification revision for a configured part.
You can create a new specification by copying an existing revision (preferred)
or by manually creating one. For more information on configured part specification revisions, see About
Configured Part Specification Revisions.
Prerequisites
IFS/Configuration Back Office and IFS/Configuration
Characteristic must be installed. A configurable part must have been
entered and connected to a configuration family. At least one configuration
part specification revision must exist. New characteristics are created and
maintained in Part Configuration Revision.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a new spec revision in the Tentative
state is created for a configured part.

Procedure
- Open Part
or
Part Configuration Revision window.
- Click the Part Configuration Revision tab and query for the part whose configuration
characteristics you want to copy.
- If in Part window, click in the table
containing the row to copy. If in
Part Configuration Revision
window,
click in the form header.
- Right-click and then click Copy Config Part Spec Rev.
The
Copy Configured Part Specification Revision dialog box
appears.
- In the Phase In field in the Destination Revision group box, enter a
date that begins at least one day after phase out date of the last revision, if one is defined.
- Click OK. A new spec revision in the Tentative status is
created.
- To add a new characteristic, Right-click and then click Part Configuration Revision.
- Save the changes.
