Sales Rule Logger

Explanation

Use this activity to analyze the result for the configuration. Save the logger information to a rtf file for further investigation if needed. Note that you cannot change anything in this dialog, the displayed information is a result log from the sales rule evaluation process during configuration.

Four fields display the number of characteristics that have invalid, required and/or hidden values as well as characteristics with mandatory quantity. The names of the characteristics will be prompted with tooltip when the cursor is moved over the fields.

Displayed data that is used in the evaluation is Part number, part configuration revision, Order information and the values and quantities for each characteristic.

Sales rule sequence setting on part configuration revision decides in which order the sales rules are displayed and evaluated.
Possible values for each sales rule are:

Information on the condition line always displays the left condition value first with the value it is compared to as the second value. If no condition exists for the sales rule the information will be (Empty condition) which means the condition is always evaluated as true.

It is possible to use search functionality to find specific sales rules or characteristics.

Procedure

Analyze sales rule result with logger information: 

  1. From the Configuration window, right-click and click Sales Rule Logger. The Sales Rule Logger dialog opens with no values.
  2. Start or continue the configuration in the Configuration window.
  3. Review the information displayed in the Sales Rule Logger dialog for the invalid, required, hidden characteristics as well as the characteristics with mandatory quantities in the four fields in the header.
  4. Hold the mouse cursor over the fields and review the characteristics that are displayed.
  5. Continue to review the sales rule result in the detail field in the logger.
  6. Use search by right-clicking and clicking Find. Search for a characteristic or sales rule which you want to analyze further.
  7. Save the current evaluation result with the Save button and save the file as a rtf file.
  8. Click Close to close the sales rule logger.
