Define Period Version

Explanation

Use this activity to define the number of periods into which you divide each year or to add additional periods to an existing year.  There are 3 standard period versions from which to select.  These are:

  1. Quarterly.  Divides the year into 4 periods, each period being one quarter.
  2. Monthly.  Divides the year into 12 periods, each period being one month.
  3. Weekly.  Divides the year into 52 periods, each period being 7 days. The first and the last week of a year can be exceptions, ranging from 4 to 10 days, depending on how the year ends, i.e., whether it has 53 weeks, etc.

In addition to these standard periods, there is a user-defined period. Here you decide how many periods your year will contain. If you specify user-defined periods, you must edit the start and end dates for each period.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that Demand Plan Server General parameters must be defined before you start to make flows.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the created period version is the one which the server uses when it starts to aggregate historical demand and to make forecasts.
