Define Scheduling
Explanation
Use this activity to define the execution schedule for the
different jobs the server can automatically perform. The jobs from which you can
select are:
- Qualify: Fills the forecast part register with parts that qualify as forecast parts, and
deletes forecast parts that no longer qualify as parts. (Forecast parts are parts that are
going to have forecasts generated for them.)
- Aggregate: Aggregates from transactions into periods. This
job also aggregates the present period so you can see how much demand is used up to the
current day.
- Create Forecast: Aggregates demand by period through the end of the previous period, and
then creates a forecast starting with the present period.
- Forecast Write back dB: Writes back the server forecast to the IFS
Application database. This Forecast is then available to the other components in IFS
Planning.
- Forecast Write back HD: Writes back the server forecast to the
hard drive.
- Lock Write back: Locks the forecast server to prevent updates. The
server is unlocked after the next forecast run. The server also can be unlocked from the
server menu.
- Import: Imports flows that are sent from other demand plan servers.
- Export: Makes an e-mail of the flows selected for export and sends them to another
demand plan server. The receiving demand plan server imports these flows through an import
job (see above).
The different time intervals between job executions are:
- Disabled (the job will not run).
- Minute.
- Daily.
- Weekly.
- Fortnight (the job is executed once every two weeks).
- Monthly.
- Quarterly.
- Half-year.
