Changing the unit in the Select Unit toolbar changes the unit of the forecast in the Forecast Graph and Forecast Table windows if they are active in the workspace. The available choices for unit are Standard or Cost Price. Standard is the default inventory part unit, and the Cost Price field is retrieved from the Inventory Part.
When you work with aggregated forecasts at some group level, it is usually natural to choose Cost Price as the forecast unit. The exception is for homogenous groups, i.e., groups of items that all, or mostly all, have the same default inventory unit (such as parts grouped on the basis of Product Code or Product Family).
