Enter Project Item
Explanation
There are different ways of registering the project items to use in your delivery project. You can
use Project Product/Items to identify the items in your
delivery project. All individual items to be used in your project's delivery structure can be entered here, including the top
part item for the project. You can also insert new items to the project
in
Project Item/Project Item or
in Project Item/Consist Of.
By entering the item in Project Item/Consist Of,
the item is inserted directly into the structure. Documents and document requirements that are common for all occurrences of
this part revision should be connected to the part definition, while documents and document requirements that are specific to
this item should be connected to it. Documents can also be connected to the item tag and serial number.
Prerequisites
- The part must exist in IFS/PDM Configuration.
- The delivery project must exist.
- If the project item is inserted directly into the structure (by using
Project Item/Consist Of or
Project Item Navigator/Consist Of), the following requirements must also be met:
- A Realized project item can consist only of Realized items. The project item for the new serial must be Realized if the parent item is Realized.
- A serial cannot be used in more than one project serial structure.
- A standard planned project item with structure in both engineering and manufacturing cannot be modified, i.e., by entering a new part its structure. A new revision must be created and then the structure can be built, or the standard planned part's structure can be copied to the new revision.
- Phantom parts will not be copied.
System Effects
- The part is defined as a project item.
- Project Part Definition is updated. If the part revision already exists in the project, item occurrences for that part revision are increased. If it is the first occurrence of this part revision, a new part definition is created.
- The document survey from the standard part revision is not copied to the project item.
- If the project item was entered in Project Item/Consist Of or
Project Item Navigator/Consist Of, the item is used in a structure.

Enter parts in Project Item/Consist Of
or
Project Item Navigator:
- Select the item for which you want to create a child item, then activate the Consist Of tab.
- Create a new record.
- If the part you are inserting as a child item is already registered in the project, you
