Connect Isolation Order to Permit

Explanation

Use this activity to connect existing isolation orders to permits. An isolation order can be connected to many permits and a permit can have many isolation orders.

In addition, you can create a new isolation order that will be automatically connected to the permit. The new isolation order can later be prepared in the Isolation Order window.

Prerequisites

To connect an existing isolation order:

• Isolation orders must be defined in Isolation Orders.
• The status of the isolation order should be between New and Establishment Completed. Note: If the permit is in the Iso Change state you can only connect isolation orders which are in the Establishment Completed status.
• The permit should not be approved. Note: If the permit is in the Iso Change state you can only connect isolation orders which are in the Establishment Completed status.
• The maximum number of connections that can exist between a permit type and an isolation type should be defined in Work Order and PM Basic Data/Allowed Connections Permit/Isolation.

To create and connect a new isolation order

• The permit should not be approved. Note: If the permit is in the Iso Change state you can only connect isolation orders which are in the Establishment Completed status.
• The maximum number of connections that can exist between a permit type and an isolation type should be defined in Work Order and PM Basic Data/Allowed Connections Permit/Isolation.
• Isolation types must be defined in Work Order and PM Basic Data.

To create and connect a new isolation order using an isolation

• The permit should not be approved. Note: If the permit is in the Iso Change state you can only connect isolation orders which are in the Establishment Completed status.
• The maximum number of connections that can exist between a permit type and an isolation type should be defined in Work Order and PM Basic Data/Allowed Connections Permit/Isolation.
• Isolations should be defined and approved in IFS/Equipment.

Procedure

To connect existing isolation orders

1. Open the Permit window and query for a permit that is not released (F3).
2. Click the Isolation Order tab and create a new record (F5).
3. Enter a value in the Isolation Order No. field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
4. Save the information (F12).

To create and connect a new isolation order

Alternative 1:

1. Follow step 1 above.
2. Right-click on the tab and click Create Isolation Order. The Create Isolation Order dialog box appears.
3. Enter a value in the Isolation Type field. Click List to select a suitable value.
4. Enter a description for the new isolation order.
5. Click OK.

Alternative 2:

1. Follow step 1 above.
2. Right-click on the tab and click Create from Isolation Template. The Create Isolation Order from Isolation dialog box appears.
3. Enter a value in the Isolation field. Click List to select a suitable value.
4. Click OK.
