Define Code Part Function For Project Accounting

Explanation

Use this activity to define the code part to be used when postings are created for projects.

Prerequisites

Before the code part can be defined, the following must have been completed:

• The company must exist in IFS Financials.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the code part values (the project identities) can be entered. The project identities are used when transactions for the projects are created.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to define the code part:

1. Open Define Code String and find the code parts.
2. Enter an optional name in the Internal Name field for the code part that is to be used for project accounting.
3. In the Code Used field, select Yes.
4. In the Code Part Function field, select Project Accounting.
5. Specify the Logical Code Part field, if appropriate.
6. Enter the maximal number of characters.
7. Enter an optional description in the Description field.
8. Save the information.
