Enter Tax Code per Deduction Rule

Explanation

This activity is used to enter a tax code for a selected deduction rule. The tax code entered will be used to calculate the tax amount for deductions made using the deduction rule.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity,

• the Deductions Taxable check box must be selected for the deduction rule in the Deduction Rules window, and
• at least one tax code for which the tax type is Calculated VAT, VAT or No VAT must exist in the system.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the deductions made using the deduction rule will be taxed based on the tax code entered.

Procedure

1. Open the Deduction Rules window and query for the deduction rule for which you want to enter a tax code.
2. Select the record that you queried for, right-click and click Tax Code per Deduction to open the Tax Code per Deductions window.
3. Create a new record in the table and select an appropriate tax code for the Tax Code field using the List of Values.
4. Save the information.
