Create Media Library
Explanation
This activity is used to connect media items to a media library. Media
library header is automatically created when you start Media Library
Manager window for instance from Base Part Characteristics
or Configuration Characteristic window. Right-click and use
Manage Media Library or use the attachment pane for Media to start Media Library
Manager window from the respective window. Here you can connect media items in three ways:
- Create a new media item and connect it to the current
library.
- Connect an existing media item to the current
library.
- Copy a set of media library items from another library.
Prerequisites
- This activity requires an existing media item header.

- A connection between the media items and
the media library will be created.

Procedure
Use one of the following options.
Create a new media item and connect it to the current
library.
- Navigate to
Media Library Manager window with the
corresponding record.
- Create a new line in the table and enter values for Name,
Description fields.
- Select the value for Media Item Type field
from the available options.
- Enter a note text if you wish to add and save the record.
- Select the created line in the table.
- Right-click and then click Browse.
- Locate the relevant file and click Open. The media item will
now be saved in the library.
Connect an existing media item to the current library.
- Navigate to
Media Library Manager
window with the corresponding record.
- Go to the Media Item ID field and select the
required media item from the List of Values. You may use either
Icon
View or
List View tabs.
- Enter a note text if you wish to add and
save the record.
Copy a set of media library items from another library.
1. Navigate to
Media Library Manager
window with the corresponding record.
2. Right-click and then click
Copy From in the header to open the
Copy Media Library
window.
3. Enter required values for all the available fields. (Number of
available fields depends on the value specified in the
Connected obj source field.)
4. Click OK.
Note: The first media library item of the type Image, that you enter in
the library
is set as the default image. You can change the default image for a
library as follows:
- Select the record from the table.
- Right-click and then click Set as Default Image.
