Define Tool ID

Explanation

Use this activity to define a new tool ID. Tool IDs can be linked to routings to specify particular tools to use.

Procedure

  1. Open the Manufacturing Tool window.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Tool ID field, enter the tool ID name you want to create.
  4. Enter a description of the tool ID in the Tool Description field.
  5. If desired, change the site in the Site field. Click List of Values to select from the available sites.
  6. In the Tool Type field, connect the tool ID to a tool type. Click List of Values to select from the available tool types.
  7. Specify a calendar for the tool ID in the Calendar ID field. Click List of Values to select from available calendars. The site calendar appears as the default.
  8. In the Sched Capacity field, select whether the type of schedule capacity used is finite or infinite.
  9. If there is another tool that can be used in place of the defined tool, enter the ID in the Alternate Tool ID field. The description will default in the adjoining field.
  10. In the Calibration Control field, select whether or not the tool requires calibration. If it requires calibration, you must enter a value greater than zero in the Time Between Calibrations field.
  11. Save the record (F12).
