Allocate Quantity

Explanation

This activity is used to allocate quantities of parts to the destination sites in a distribution allocation. Quantities can be allocated either manually using site clusters and nodes or by using balance demand.

When allocating manually, you specify quantities for each part whereas for site clusters you specify quantities that are set for a particular site node.

Prerequisites

• Allocation lines must exist.
• If quantities are allocated by site cluster, destination lines should be created using the site cluster entered in the Site Cluster field.

System Effects

• Quantities will be allocated and displayed accordingly on the upper and lower sections of the Part Details tab.

Procedure

Allocate by site cluster:

1. On the Distribution Allocation window, select the required allocation line on the upper section of the Part Details tab.
2. Right-click and then click Allocate Quantity by Site Cluster.
3. In the dialog box that opens, click New to enter a new record.
4. Using the List of Values select a site cluster node and enter the quantity to allocate.
5. You can duplicate or remove lines by clicking Duplicate or Remove.
6. Click OK and refresh the allocation to see your changes.

Allocate manually:

1. In the Distribution Allocation window either create a new line or select the required allocation line on the upper section of the Part Details tab.
2. Enter the quantity for each distribution site in the the Qty To Allocate field.
3. Save your changes.
