Balance Demand

Explanation

This activity is used to balance demand for receiver sites, when the available demand from the receivers are more than the supply. When the allocation is a single source of supply, that is dedicated to a number of receivers, the demand is balanced, by proportional distribution of the desired quantity to allocate at source to each receiver site.

Prerequisites

• The total demand needs to be greater than the planned quantity.
   

System Effects

• The system will adjust all allocation lines to make sure that the total quantity to allocate is distributed in a proportional fair way. The calculation can be given as follows: Allocated Quantity = (Initially Allocated Qty / ∑ Initially Allocated quantity ) * Desired Qty to Allocate.

Procedure

1. Open the Distribution Allocation window.
2. Query for the required allocation number.
3. Then select the required allocation line in the upper table of the Part Details tab.
4. Right-click and then click Balance Demand.
