Generate Inventory Part Availability Exceptions

Explanation

This activity is used to generate exception messages for inventory parts.

The default settings can be used by selecting the Default feature. Default settings are derived from the Database Tasks window set by the administrator.

Procedure

You can either generate inventory part availability exceptions directly (procedure A), or schedule the task as a background job (procedure B).

A. To generate inventory part availability exceptions directly:

  1. Open the Generate Inventory Part Availability Exceptions dialog box. 
  2. Enter a value in the Site field. Do this either by entering a value, or click List to select a value from the List of Values. 
  3. Optionally, you can enter parameters to limit the message generation.
  4. If all the necessary selection criteria have been defined, click OK to complete the operation.

Note: Click Default if you want to use the default settings. 

B. To schedule the generate inventory part availability exceptions task as a background job:

  1. Click Schedule to open the New Database Task Schedule window. Set the scheduling parameters as desired and save. Scheduled tasks can be seen in Scheduled Database Tasks window.
