Enter Purchased Inventory Part, Default Locations
Explanation
This procedure is one of many you can use to complete the registration of a
purchased inventory part. It is used when you want to connect the inventory part to
default locations to be used on arrival and receipt. The procedure will facilitate receipt
handling, as the default location will be automatically displayed.
Prerequisites
- An inventory part header and some general information must be entered.
- The location group must be entered in the
Inventory Location Groups window.
- The location type must be entered in the
Inventory
Locations window.
- If pallet locations are to be used, you must first enter values in
the Pallets tab in the
Inventory
Part window.
System Effects
The purchased inventory part is allocated to one or more warehouse locations. There is
only one location for each location type.

Procedure
- In the
Inventory Part window, query for the inventory part in
question and
then click the
Default
Locations tab.
- Enter the requested value manually or by using the List of Values, once for
every location that should be connected to the part.
- Save your entry.
