Define as Fixed Asset Rotable Pool

Explanation

Use this activity when you want to define a fixed asset rotable pool. The ownership of a rotable part pool can be specified as Company Owned or Customer Owned. By default, a company-owned rotable part pool contains expensed inventory parts in stock. However, a company-owned rotable part pool also can be defined as a fixed asset rotable part pool (FA pool). From a financial point of view, an individual connected to a FA pool is a fixed asset object. From a physical point of view, an individual connected to a FA pool is still in stock at an inventory location.

Prerequisites

• The ownership of the rotable part pool must be Company Owned.
• No individuals can be connected to the rotable part pool. The value in the Actual Pool Qty field must be zero (0).
• All selected sites for the rotable part pool must be connected to the same company.
• IFS/Fixed Asset must be installed in the system.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a rotable part pool is defined as a fixed asset rotable part pool. The FA Objects tab in the Rotable Part Pool window will be enabled.
