Collect and Remove Obsolete Cards

Explanation

Use this activity to record the removal of cards from a circuit. The system automatically makes Kanban cards Obsolete when you accept Kanban calculations with a different Qty per Kanban, Lot/Transfer Qty, or Reorder Point value if the cards are Printed. You also can make cards Obsolete manually if any text or other information on the card is no longer valid. An Obsolete card cannot be used for electronic replenishment transactions.

Once cards are Obsolete, you may need to collect them from the shop floor and change their status to Removed in the Cards tab of the Kanban Circuit window. If you have no interest in keeping a card's history, you can delete it from the system.

Use the Kanban Audit report to help identify the Obsolete cards in a circuit.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that Kanban cards with a status of Obsolete exist for a circuit. You can identify these cards by running a Kanban Audit report or by noting any negative values in the Cards to Add/Subtract field in the Cards tab of the Kanban Circuit window.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the status of the card is changed to Removed.
