Load Shop Orders

Explanation

This activity is used to load selected or all shop orders available on a site to the Advanced Planning Board from the database. This can be done when the Advanced Planning Board is loaded for the first time and also while it is in use.

Procedure

Loading shop orders immediately after the Advanced Planning Board has been launched:

  1. In the Load Options tab of the Load Shop Orders window that appears, specify the required criteria by performing one or more of the following steps.

Note that you may enter multiple values in these fields, separated by semi-colons, except in the Start Date and End Date fields.

Optionally, you may indicate that the shop orders which are loaded must be scheduled as well. If so, click the Automatic Scheduling tab and perform steps 2 to 7. If not, perform only step 7.

  1. In the Automatic Schedule area, select the categories of items that you want to schedule automatically.
  2. In the Dispatch Rule list, click the sorting method that you want to apply during the automatic scheduling process.
  3. In the Operation Schedule Mode area, click the scheduling mode that you want to use.
  4. In the Operation Resource Assignments area, click the appropriate option to indicate whether resource assignment should remain or whether it can be changed.
  5. In the Adjust Schedule Due To Shop Floor Reporting area, select the Run Adjust Schedule With check box if you want the effect of shop floor reporting to be reflected on the schedule. If this check box is selected, you need to indicate whether to prioritize the operations which have been reported on or to keep the scheduled operation sequence. In addition, if this check box is selected, the Unscheduled Operations, Scheduled Operations, Released Operations check boxes in the Automatically Schedule area will be selected.
  6. Click OK. The shop orders which match all the conditions that you have specified in this dialog box will be retrieved from the site and loaded to the Advanced Planning Board.


Loading shop orders while the Advanced Planning Board is in use:

  1. On the File menu, point to Open and then click Database Open. The Load Shop Orders dialog box will appear with the values that were entered in each of the fields during the previous loading activity.
  2. Perform one of the steps below to specify the criteria for selecting shop orders:

Optionally, you may indicate that the shop orders which are loaded must be scheduled as well. If so, click the Automatic Scheduling tab and follow steps 2 to 7 given above. If not, perform step 3 given below.

  1. Click OK. The shop orders which match the conditions that you have specified in this dialog box will be retrieved from the site and loaded to the Advanced Planning Board.
