Replace Structure Component
Explanation
This activity is
used
to replace a component of a multilevel structure during the multilevel repair
process. It is also used to change the quantity of an existing
component.
Prerequisites
- Multilevel repair
shop order should exist with the parent part in Reserved or Issued state.
- At
least one component should exist in the original as-built structure for the
required parent part.
System Effects
As a result of
this activity, the changes done to the component gets written in the repair
history. The original components will be removed from the structure and they
will be listed in the Shop Order/Salvage part tab. Replaced component
details are added to the
Shop order/Material
tab. When receiving the repair shop order, a new as-built structure is created
with the changes done.

Component Replacement Details
Procedure

Open the
Shop Order window and query for your multilevel repair shop order.

Make sure that the state of the parent material line is Reserved or
Issued.

Open the
Multilevel Repair Structure
tab.

Select the top part from the graphical tree structure, right-click and then
click Expand Descendents.

Select the revision node of the parent part where you want to replace the
component.

Right-click and then click Component Replacement to open the
Component
Replacement Details dialog box with the parent part you selected in the header
as the parent part.

Select the record from the lower table and change the value to Replace in
the
Repair Action list. This action will copy the original component data to
replacement data.

Enter the new part number in the Replacement Part No field from the
List of Values.

Enter the required component quantity either in the Replace Quantity or
Replace QPA field. Here you can see the suggested component quantity in
the
Calculated
Component Quantity field.

Enter the repair reason for the structure changes by using the List
of Values.

Click
Apply or OK.
