Register Part Forecast
Explanation
This activity is used to enter forecasted demand for a
project master scheduled part (project MS part) for a specific site and a
specific project planned netting group (PNG). You may enter forecasted demand
for a number of different days by creating a separate record for each day in the
Register Forecast or
Forecast Part tab.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that a project MS part must have been
defined for the site and PNG.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The demand forecasted for a particular day is
recorded for the project MS part and this information can be used when performing
project MS.
- The planned costs arising from the
forecast are included in the project activity against which the forecast is
made. When an actual demand arises, if that demand is set to consume the
forecast and if its supply option is Project MRP, then no planned
cost will be allocated against the demand activity since this cost has
already been allocated to the forecast activity when the forecast was made.
