Enable Post Maintenance Check for Fault

Explanation

This activity is used to add a post maintenance check to a fault. When the fault has been corrected and its task set to finished, a new task is generated as specified by the information entered on the post maintenance check.

A post maintenance check can be specified either as a limit for an operational parameter or as time elapsed since the repair. You also have to supply the number of days forewarning the system should use for this post maintenance check. The limit you enter determines the number of times a post maintenance check task will be created.

For example: You create a post maintenance check that should happen 10 days after the fault is corrected. The limit is set to 50 days. Once the fault is corrected, five post maintenance checks are created. These checks occur on the 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th days after repair. The number of days forewarning determines when it becomes a pending task.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, a serial with a registered fault must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, one or more post maintenance check tasks are created after the fault has been corrected in accordance with the values defined for the post maintenance check.
