Enter Stop Event
Explanation
Use this activity to register a stop event. When new
stop events are reported it is mandatory that a stop event type be selected for
the new record. This stop event type must have been connected to an existing
system stop event type as this connection controls how the stop event is
handled. A stop event can be reported;
	- when the operation of a production unit is stopped
due to certain circumstances, e.g., power failure.
- when you want to record the time period the
production unit was shut down on purpose, e.g., for maintenance.
- when you want to register a planned stop of the
production unit in advance. Examples for planned stops include shut down for
new year, or an annual/quarterly shutdown.
- when you want to report an event that requires a
particular action to be performed, although the event is not causing a
	direct stop in production.
Prerequisites
A stop event type must have been created and connected
to a system stop event type in the Define Event Types window
(setup OEE).
System Effects
	- A stop event with a unique ID is
registered and available for use (e.g., for analysis) in IFS/OEE.

- The stop event record will be available
in the Production Unit and Production Unit Overview
	windows.

Procedure
	- Open the Production Unit window for the production unit
	you want.
- Click Report Stop (found in the Actions
area) to open the Stop Event window. If you already have this
window open, click Create New on the toolbar to create a new stop
	event.
Note: You can also open the Stop Event window by
selecting the right mouse button option View Event for an existing
stop event record in the Production Unit window.
- In the Stop Event Type list, select the
required stop event type (connected to the system stop event type you want).

- Enter the object for which the stop event is to be
created in the Object ID field. Use the List of Values to select a
	valid value.
- The fields in the Planned Stop area will only be
available for editing when the selected stop event type is connected to the
system stop event type Planned Stop. If it is to be a planned stop, enter
values in the From and To fields for the period of time the
	stop is to occur.
- If the selected stop event holds connections to
different stop events, this information will be shown in the Connected
Events field. Following is a description of the options which are
available when you right-click on this field:

		- View Connected Stop - use this option
to view information on a connected stop event.
- Connect Stop - use this option to
connect an existing stop event to the selected record.
- Disconnect Stop - use this option to
remove the connection to an existing stop event.
- Create New and Connect - use this
option to create a new stop event and connect it to the selected record.
	- Enter values in the From and To fields for the period of time
the stop event was valid. By default, the
system date/time will be displayed in the fields. Note however that these
values can be manually changed if necessary.
The Duration field shows the time (in minutes) between the values in
	the From and To fields.
- If there is any time that was wasted, i.e.,
from start-up to full-speed, enter the value in the Startup Time
	field.
The Duration field (to the right of the Startup Time field)
shows the time (in minutes) between the values in the Startup Time
	and To fields.
- Enter relevant information for the stop event in
	the Note field.
- Enter the ID of the user who registered the stop
event in the Reported By field. When a value is entered in this
field, the given user's default maintenance organization will be populated
in the Maintenance Organization field. Note: You can change
the default value in the Maintenance Organization field if necessary.

- Enter the cause for the stop in the Loss
Cause field. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
- You can also enter additional information, e.g., a
unique ID, in the Tracking ID field. This is helpful when you want to
easily identify and keep track of a particular stop event.
- If any action has been carried out for the stop
event enter the value in the Action field. Use the List of Values to
select the appropriate action. Use the Note field to enter a more
detailed description of the performed action.
- Enter the user ID of the person responsible for
performing the given action in the Reported By field.
- Verify the information you have entered and then
	click Save and Exit.
