Function Structure Navigator

[About Products] [To Design Standard Product]

Usage

Use this window to create products and product models, attach engineering functions and connect parts and documents to functions. The tree structure allows user to view the function hierarchy as well as part and document hierarchy. The only way to access this window is via the Function Structure Navigator menu option in Product Functions, Products and Models or from the navigator. The window is divided into three parts.

  1. The upper part for the product and model information,
  2. The lower left part for Graphical Structure to handle graphical view of function arrangement, engineering parts and documents for the product model and,
  3. The lower right part for Information Holder to maintain information based on the selected node in Graphical Structure.

The product information describes the topmost level of a product, and specifies only the general type, e.g., PC Pentium. The product model is used to specify a model of a product, e.g., 200 MHz. Each product model can be attached to the top-level part in a product structure, and each model can have a function structure.

For the description of each tab in the window, follow the appropriate link: Functions (root node), Function List (root node), Model Part Contents (root node), Parts (root node), Fault Codes (root node), Template Structure (root node), Zones (root node), Access Panel (root node), General (function node), Functions (function node), Characteristics (function node), Fault Codes (function node), Template Structure (function node), Parts (parts group node), Revision (part node), Engineering Part (part node), Consist Of (part node), Where Used (part node), Multilevel (part node), Characteristics (part node), Document Req. (part node), Change Request (part node), Documents (document group node) and General (document node).
