Create Delivery Pattern
Explanation
Use this activity to enter a form of weekly calendar defining
the available delivery days and times for scheduled receipts from the supplier.
The delivery pattern is specially used for planning a supplier schedule, but can also be used for standard purchasing. Delivery
patterns can be used to define the delivery dates to appear on supplier schedules. The
goal of this data is to support the scheduling of purchase arrivals. By assigning two
different suppliers to different delivery patterns, traffic congestion at the receiving
dock can be managed. Delivery patterns can also be used when a fixed route or transport
limitation allows shipments only at predefined times.
The specific
delivery days and times are defined for the available deliveries.
- Delivery days indicate the days available
for scheduled deliveries within a week. Only the days checked in as delivery days will be
available for selection in the table where you are defining delivery days
and time details.
- Delivery time means that you can specify one or more
delivery time slots within a delivery day. This is mostly used for true repetitive
environments where multiple deliveries per day per supplier are common.
Distribution methods:
- Do not Distribute: The schedule date sets
the starting time as default.
- Distribute Evenly: The daily schedule quantities are
divided by the number of deliveries per day.
The delivery pattern is
then connected to the combination of a supplier and a purchase part. However, it
is optional to use delivery patterns.
Prerequisites
No specific prerequisites are required.
System Effects
A delivery pattern is created and can be used for standard
purchasing or supplier scheduling. It is now available in the List of Values and
can be connected to a combination of a supplier and a purchase part.
