Having consignment stock means that you have access to products which still are owned by the supplier. You will not be charged until the products are used or sold, i.e., moved out from the consignment stock. This functionality is preferably used when the relationship between the customer and supplier is close and the consumption of material is frequent.
When transferring consignment handled parts between inventory locations, you will have a choice of whether to consume the parts. Information concerning the consumption is created and entered as the issue from consignment stock takes place.
You can generate two different reports by choosing either Print Consumed Parts - Detailed List or Print Consumed Parts - Summarized List in the Operations menu. These printouts are printed only for informational purposes. On the detailed list, you can study each issue of the part. The issue is listed with date and time. On the summarized list, you can study the total quantity issued within the indicated period. The summarized list and the notify supplier report are identical with one exception; printing the summarized list does not change the status, i.e., the supplier is not considered as notified about the consumption.
Either a detailed or a summarized list is printed. No further system effects occur.
