When an activity is released, regardless of what it consists of, it will be performed or executed to completion. This is a manual activity and only the result of the activity will be entered in the system. A released activity, which then is performed, will eventually go to the complete status. Performing an activity is really the actual work being done, e.g., building a wall, painting the house, lifting the ship, etc. It is only the key parameters concerning duration, progress, and cost for this activity that are entered in the system and that describe the project progress.
