Project Management

Description of process

The IFS/Project module manages information on projects in IFS Applications. IFS/Project can be connected to other modules in order to extract and store project data. One of the features is that all objects that are prepared to work with projects in the IFS Applications modules can be connected to activities.

The Project management process proceeds in mainly plan, execute, follow up, analysis stages. Planning is done by creating a project plan with sub projects, activities, tasks with their durations defined and assigning resources to activities. The plan can also be created using third party planning integration tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera Project Planner and then be integrated with IFS/Project or vise versa. A project is executed when it's approved and work is started on it. The follow up and analysis regarding a project is done by analyzing the resource capacity usage of the project activities and analyzing project or activity exceptions such as whether the allocated budget has been exceeded.

IFS Business Analytics can be used to create and analyze information based on the project management data available in IFS Applications. For more information refer About Information Sources in IFS Business Analytics.
