About Supply & Demand

Demand and supplies are connected through demand supply allocations. This keeps track of the quantity of supplies allocated to demands. Changes to demands and supplies affect this allocation. It is possible to level the load by decreasing supply in over-loaded periods and increasing supply in under-loaded periods.

Load is calculated using part supply quantities, not demand quantities.

Adjusting Demand

When defining a new demand, identical supply allocations will be created automatically by the system.

Editing an existing demand will also automatically update the supply allocation. If you for instance change a demand date, then the supply date will also be updated.

Deleting a demand will also automatically delete the corresponding supply allocation.

Adjusting Supply

The supply date for a supply allocated to a demand can be changed.

Editing the supply date for a supply allocated to a demand will not update the demand date.

New supply, not allocated to any demand or sales contracts, can be defined.
