Define Part Demand

Explanation

Use this activity to define a part demand. You can choose to create one line or define a demand rate.

Prerequisites

A part must exist.

As a result of this activity, a part demand is defined. A corresponding supply is automatically created.

Procedure

  1. On the Parts tab in the Simulation window, right-click on the required part and then click View Part. The Manage Part window opens, populated with the relevant part details.
  2. On the Demand tab in the Manage Part window, create a new record.
  3. In the Demand Date field, select a required date.
  4. In the Expected Quantity field, enter the required quantity.
  5. Optionally, enter relevant values in the Lower Quantity field and the Upper Quantity field. If you do not enter any values, the value in the Expected Quantity field will be used.
  6. Save the record.

To enter a demand rate:

  1. On the Demand tab in the Manage Part window, right-click on the data grid and then click Define Demand Rate. The Define Demand Rate dialog box opens.
  2. In the Start Date field, select a required start date.
  3. Enter applicable values in the Rate field and No of Periods field.
  4. In the Interval field, select the required interval from the list.
  5. In the Distribute Demand area, select the required option.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Save.
