Define Part Supply

Explanation

Use this activity to change supply dates for an existing supply, or define a new supply not connected to any demand or sales contract.

Prerequisites

A part with a defined demand must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a new supply date is defined for an existing demand. Alternatively, a new supply is created, not connected to any demand.

Procedure

To change supply date for an existing supply:

1. On the Parts tab in the Simulation window, right-click on the required part and then click View Part. The Manage Part window opens, populated with the relevant part details.
2. On the Supply tab in the Manage Part window, select the required supply and enter a new date in the Supply Date field.
3. Save the changes.

To define a new supply not connected to any demand or sales contract:

1. On the Supply tab in the Manage Part window, create a new record.
2. In the Supply Date field, enter a required date.
3. In the Expected Quantity field, enter an applicable quantity.
4. Optionally, enter relevant values in the Lower Quantity field and Upper Quantity field. If you do not enter any value, the value in the Expected Quantity field will be used.
5. Save the record.
