Lock Simulation

Explanation

Use this activity to lock or unlock a simulation. A simulation can be locked to prevent any changes to its data. This includes all data related to the simulation such as parts, part resource requirements, part forecasts, resources, resource capacity and sales contracts. Sales contract statuses are not related to a simulation and are therefore not affected.

Prerequisites

A simulation exists.

System Effects

As a result of this activity you will lock or unlock a simulation. If you attempt to save changed data for a locked simulation, an error message is displayed saying that the simulation is locked and cannot be updated. The calculate load option will be disabled for locked simulations.

Procedure

To lock a simulation:

1. Open the Simulations window.
2. Select the required simulation, right-click and then click Lock Simulation.

To unlock a simulation:

1. Open the Simulations window.
2. Select the required simulation, right-click and then click Unlock Simulation.
