Enter Freight Information

Explanation

This activity is used to enter site specific information about weight, volume, and packing. If values are not entered here the values entered in the part catalog will be taken as the default values. The information is intended for transport booking  and freight calculation purposes. You cannot enter freight information for non-inventory sales parts relating to services.

Procedure

  1. Open the appropriate window, and either populate or query for the desired sales part.
  2. Click the Freight Information tab. The information entered in the part catalog will be displayed.
  3. Select the Use Site Specific Freight Information check box if the freight information entered here will be used instead of the information entered in the part catalog. 
  4. If the non-inventory sales part is to be loaded in package units, enter the required information in the Package group box. Enter the short code of the package type to be used, in the Type field. You can either enter a value, or click List to select one from the List of Values. 
  5. Enter the total number of parts to be included in each package in the Proposed Pkg Qty field.
  6. If the non-inventory sales part is to be loaded in pallets, enter the required information in the Pallet group box. Enter the short code of the pallet type to be used, in the Type field. You can either enter a value, or click List to select one from the List of Values.
  7. Enter the total number of parts to be included in each pallet in the Proposed Pallet Qty field.
