Explanation

This activity is used to enter Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) company prefix and also to define an extension digit for package types. The company prefix is a number given by the GS1 system, for each company. The GS1 system is a leading global organization dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency and transparency of supply and demand chains globally and across sectors. This system represents a single, unified, global standard and it offers benefits to all organizations by reducing cost, time, increasing accuracy and efficiency.

The entered extension digit for a package type is a single digit varying from 0-9. The company prefix and the serial number should contain 16 digits. The created extension digit will be used when you create a SSCC automatically.
