Create Pick List

Explanation

When handling customer orders with stored sales parts, they need to be reserved and picked on a specific inventory location. Whenever the parts are reserved, a pick list needs to be created and printed in order to inform the packing staff of what and how much to pick for each specific order.

If a part is pallet handled, one pick list is created for each pallet. Otherwise one pick list is created for each location group.

Customer order lines that have the Shipment Creation option as Create New Shipment at Pick List Creation or Add to Existing Shipment at Pick List Creation, will be connected to a shipment during the creation of the pick list. For these order lines the created pick list will always be created as a consolidated pick list per shipment ID. Note, if the order type of the customer order is set to automatically print the pick-list, this will not be applicable to the order lines that are connected to a shipment. The pick list must be printed manually.

Print the pick list by using Print Pick List for Customer Orders.

If a pick list has been created, and you want to change the status of the order from Reserved to Released it is possible to do this in Report Picking of Customer Order Lines. For single handled parts, query for the order in question and enter zero (0) in the Qty to Pick field. For pallet handled parts, query for the order in question, select the Pallet tab and clear the check box in the Pick Pallet field. For both single and pallet handled parts right-click and then click Report Picking of Customer Order Lines. Click OK in the dialog boxes that are displayed. The status of the order has now been changed back to Released.
