Use this tab to view and define the distribution of component material costs between the by-products and the primary product on the shop order. When you enter a by-product on the Shop Order/By-Product Cost Distribution tab, a record is inserted here for each component on the shop order. When you enter a component, a record is inserted here for each by-product, if any, on the shop order.
The Item Cost Distribution Factor is the only field that can be updated. Each individual item cost distribution factor must be between 0 and 1. The total item cost distribution for all by-products for each component cannot be greater than 1. This factor is used as a means of distributing component costs between the by-products and the primary product.
