This step is mandatory.
The first step is entering at least one site. A number of different parameters for the site must be reviewed and changed as appropriate (refer to notes below and the activity diagram for more information). After that, you should connect the site to user IDs and, if desired, enter a default coordinator and buyer for the user.
Sites Enter one or more sites for use in the system. Connection to a
company must be made for the site. This information is mandatory.
Note: We recommend that you set the Structure Update field to Simplified; this allows structures and routings to be modified after they are defined as Buildable. If this is not done, each individual structure and routing must be manually released to make changes by using the Part Revisions window to change the phase date of the parent.
Note: At least two sites must exist for multi-site ordering: one for the manufacturing/supplying site and one for the receiving/ordering site. On the other hand, you might also have several manufacturing/supplying sites for one receiving/ordering site or the other way around.
Note: For multi-site ordering, we recommend that you use a specific coordinator and order type; this will help you keep track of these types of orders separately.
Users The system users must be defined with their user id and connected to a site and company. Default coordinator id and buyer id must be entered for the user as these appear when entering an order. This information is mandatory.
Note: You must have an entry for each site to which a user ID will be granted access. The most likely cause for being unable to access a site or inventory location is because the site has not been set for the user ID.
Note: For IFSAPP user ID, you must assign this master ID to any and all sites requiring access.
Normally, nothing should be changed regarding system events since these settings define the way in which transactions work. You should, however, review and make any necessary changes to the system defaults and system parameters.
Site to Site Reservation Setup Use this tab to enter reservation connections between supply sites and demand sites for use in supply chain reservations. If there are no connections between a specific supply site and a specific demand site, the demand site cannot make supply chain reservations on the supply site.
The information entered in this step is used throughout IFS Distribution (and IFS Manufacturing).
