Create/Update
CompanyThis step is required.
The only way to create a company is by using the Create Company Assistant, located in Enterprise/Company. You have to decide whether the new company should be created from a company template or from an existing company. The last step of the wizard will create basic data for the company in active components supporting the create company concept.
The data you enter in the wizard will appear on the
General
and Accounting Rules tabs in the
Company
window.
The information entered in this step is used throughout IFS Applications.
We recommend that you verify the data when this step has been performed. One way to do this is to open the Company window in the Enterprise Companies window, query for your company, and then right-click and click Company Log. This displays a list of components and the status of each component. Right-click again and then click Company Log Details to view the status of each logical unit.
Note: The Valid From date you enter for the company defines the earliest transaction dates you will be able to use, i.e., you will not be allowed to create transactions prior to this date.
