This step is optional.
An internal ledger allows you to separately post base accounting transactions for internal and external reporting purpose. Postings concerning accounting for external reporting are stored in the general ledger, while management-oriented accounting is handled in the internal ledger.
Before using the internal ledger, some basic data must be defined in the Internal Ledger/Basic Data windows.
More than one internal ledger can be defined in the Define Internal Ledgers window. You should specify whether transactions posted by General Ledger Periodic Allocation, Automatic Posting and Periodic Cost Allocation function will affect related transactions on internal ledger. It is also possible to specify what voucher types should be excluded from being updated to a selected internal ledger.
User per Internal Ledger should be defined to connect the User ID to the internal ledger. By defining authority you can specify which users have access or authority to view internal ledger information in queries and reports.
Internal Code Parts and Internal Posting Methods for accounts should also be specified.
In addition, in Voucher Type, you can create a voucher type to be used for the internal ledger only, or for both the general ledger and internal ledger.
