Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to enter or complete the setup information in IFS Accounting Rules that is required for IFS/Fixed Assets. If you have already entered this information, then skip these steps.
Preparations in IFS/Accounting Rules
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the basic data required for running this functionality. In this exercise, you will specify depreciation method, book, acquisition account, base value type, calculation index, and object group.
Preparations in IFS/Fixed Assets
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up information for the object to be included in depreciation plans created in the future.

Note: The Planning Info tab will get enabled only when the object status is Planned or Investment.

Note: FAP5 is for cost accounting (depreciation expense) and FAP6 is for balance accounting for depreciation (accumulated depreciation).
Right-click and then click Create Depreciation Plan.
Create a depreciation plan for the object group 10, Machines as shown in the table below.

Note: You can create the depreciation plan for object of type Normal (status Active and Investment) and Planned. It can be created for multiple years.
Click OK. The depreciation plan is created, and the planned depreciation lines are displayed.
Right-click in the window header and then click Simulate Postings.
Right-click in the window header and click Simulated Posting Details. The Simulated Posting Details window will open. Note that postings are simulated as per the posting rules you defined in Preparations in IFS/Accounting Rules.
