This step is mandatory.
Inventory locations must be set up before you can put any parts in inventory. For example, if you perform inspection and are using pallets, you must define locations for these too. First you create locations groups, and then you define the actual locations.
Location Group The purpose is to group several locations of the same location type. This information is mandatory.
Location Inventory locations are defined by site, and must also be connected to an inventory location group, which in turn is linked to a location type. This information is mandatory.
The information entered in this step is used throughout IFS/Inventory and in IFS Manufacturing.
Note: An inventory location consists - as a minimum - of Location No, Warehouse and a location group. Bay, row, tier and bin are optional.
Note: As a minimum, three types of locations are recommended: Arrival, Picking, and Shipment.
