Basic Data Setup

Create Horizon ID

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the basic data required for a horizon ID.

Windows:
Manufacturing Standard Basic Data

  1. Open the Manufacturing Standard Basic Data window, and click the Schedule Horizon tab.
  2. Create a new record. Enter XX7 in Horizon ID column where XX replace your initials.
  3. Enter Rim Horizon in Horizon Description column.
  4. Enter 1, 3 and 14 for Past Due Fence, Firm Horizon and Sched Horizon columns respectively.
  5. Set No Roll  for Roll Firm Schedule column.
  6. Save the information.

Create Inventory Locations for a Production Line

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up inventory locations that can be used for production lines.

Windows:
Inventory Locations

  1. Open the Inventory Locations window.
  2. Create two new records for inventory locations named RLI and RLO as Location No and enter the information shown in the table below.

Location Group Choose a location group where the inventory location type is Production Line Choose a location group where the inventory location type is Picking.

4.Save the information.

Create an Inventory Part

Purpose: The purpose is this exercise is to show you how to create an inventory part that will be used by a production line.

Windows:
Inventory Part

  1. Open Inventory Part window and create a new record.
  2. Enter 61-900 in Inventory part field and Standard Aluminum Rim in Part Description field. 
  3. Go to General tab and provide necessary information as given in the table.

  1. Save the information.
  2. Click Planning Data tab. Set Supply Type as Schedule and save.

Create a Production Line

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create a production line.

Windows:
Production Line

  1. Open the Production Line window.
  2. Create a new record, Enter 900 in Production Line field and Production Line for Rims in Description field.
  3. In the Part tab, add Part 61–900.
  4. Click the Locations tab. Add your inbound location (RLI) and outbound location (RLO) by creating new records.
  5. Go to Location Usage column. Select Inbound and Outbound for your locations RLI and RLO respectively as Location Usage.
  6. Save the information.
