This course gives the student an understanding of how IFS Applications supports the maintenance engineering process. The student will learn how to analyze data from operations and maintenance. The student will also learn how to resolve any mismatches between serialized structures as these are recorded in the application and the actual physical structure.
In addition, those attending the course will learn how to work with engineering change requests of any kind, e.g., service bulletins, airworthiness directives or internal change requests which result from the reliability analysis, and how to take these through a complete engineering change process.
The estimated time to complete this course is 8 hours.
This course was designed primarily for those working in the maintenance engineering department.
This chapter shows you how to perform reliability analysis using the functionality in IFS Applications, as well as how to perform ad-hoc queries to perform the same.
Before taking the lessons in this chapter, you should have completed a basic navigation course in IFS Applications, and have a good overall understanding of the functionality in IFS/Vehicle Information Management (IFS/VIM).
The estimated time to complete this chapter is 2 hours.
This chapter was designed primarily for engineers who perform reliability or other types of analysis.
This chapter covers managing maintenance requirements. It is a manual process. The outcome of this process is a maintenance program, and how to define this in the application is described in the Manage Maintenance Program course.
No prerequisites are required to perform this lesson.
The estimated time to complete this chapter is 1 hour.
This chapter was designed primarily for the engineers who are responsible for defining maintenance programs.
This chapter will show how structure mismatches can be resolved within IFS Applications. A structure mismatch is something that the system will generate if a serial being removed from a structure is not recorded as installed in that structure or if a serial being installed is already installed in another structure.
Before taking the lessons in this chapter, you should have a basic knowledge of the general functions in IFS Applications as well as the lessons in the Manage Serialized Configuration course.
The estimated time to complete this chapter is 3 hours.
This chapter was designed primarily for engineers who are responsible for ensuring that the maintained configurations are kept correct.
This chapter covers change requests (CRs) and change orders (COs). CRs are used to gather all potential changes found by members in an organization. These suggestions are then evaluated and, if applicable, turned into COs to authorize any necessary work.
Before taking the lessons in this chapter, you should have a basic knowledge of the general functions in IFS Applications.
The estimated time to complete this chapter is 2 hours.
This chapter was designed primarily for engineers who work with service bulletins, airworthiness directives, engineering changes etc.
