Handling Delivery Reminders—Exercises

IMPORTANT

Basic Data Setup

Create Supplier

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up a supplier from whom you can purchase goods and services.

Windows:
Supplier

  1. Enter the supplier XX1000. In the Name field, enter Dunlop.

Create Purchase Part, Inventory-registered

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create the purchase part by entering it as an inventory part. The purchase part is automatically created when entering the inventory part.

Windows:

  1. Enter an inventory kept purchase part with the part number XX55-100 and the description Racing Wheels.
  2. Connect the purchase part to the supplier.

Required Data

Purpose: The purpose of these exercises is to enter the required data that is used in the exercises below.

Modify Supplier

Windows:
Supplier

  1. Open the Purchase/Misc Supplier Info tab.
  2. Select the Print Delivery Reminder check box.
  3. Enter five days between the reminders and 60 days before arrival.

  1. Enter a purchase orders with a part order line. The delivery date should be within 60 days.
  2. Release the purchase order.

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to understand how a delivery reminder is created.

Create a Delivery Reminder

  1. Open the purchase order and study the Delivery Reminder, Last Del Rem and No of Del Rem columns.
  2. Create the delivery reminder in the Purchase Order Delivery Reminders window and print it. You can preview it before printing.
  3. Go back to the purchase order and study the Delivery Reminder, Last Del Rem and No of Del Rem columns again. What has happened?
